In our school we encourage all pupils to wear the school uniform and ask parents to agree with this by signing the home/school agreement. We believe wearing school uniform helps engender a sense of school community and belonging. It also means that children are not singled out because of the clothes they wear and ensures that parents are not under financial pressure to buy the latest trends.
Girls should wear grey or black skirt or trousers a white or maroon polo shirt and a maroon school sweat shirt or cardigan. In the summer girls might like to wear red and white checked dresses.
Boys should wear grey or black trousers, a white or maroon polo shirt and a maroon school sweatshirt. In the summer boys might like to wear tailored grey or black shorts.
Pupils should wear black shoes for school and plain white or black socks. Trainers are only acceptable, as part of uniform, if they are plain black. Extreme hairstyles (style or colour) are not permitted. Jewellery should not be worn to school except for stud earrings and a watch. Make-up should not be worn.
For physical education (PE) pupils will need dark plain shorts, a white t-shirt and plimsolls. Trainers can be worn for outside games but must be different from trainers worn as part of the uniform. In the winter pupils might like to wear a dark tracksuit. Pupils will need a one piece swimming costume or swimming trunks and a towel for swimming lessons in the summer term. PE kits should be kept in a drawstring bag along with an art shirt or apron for practical activities such as art or design technology.
Please ensure all clothing and equipment is clearly marked with your child’s name.
